We went hiking, and armadillos popped out of their den thingy and tried to become our friends or maybe enemies. They seemed to want to get up in our faces, but they are so short, so instead they darted near our shins. We didn’t know whether or not to touch them…desire-to-experience-cuckoo-textures said yes, but bitten-hands-clawed-face-disaster-fantasy said no, so no. Later we found out they are the only known source of leprosy in the US. Thanks, fear!
